You know that feeling as a kid when your mother told you something, yet you did it anyway just to regret it almost immediately after? For example, you’ve just eaten dinner and you want a cookie. Mom says “Just grab one!” So, of course, you grab three. You knew deep down that one cookie was the right choice, but unfortunately temptation won. And now, you’re dealing with an upset stomach and have had the sudden realization that mom knew what she was talking about.
God knows we face these kinds of moments every single day. God always knows a way out, we just have to listen and put our trust in Him. It’s not exactly temptation itself that’s the problem, it’s how we respond to it. We either listen, or we learn the hard way, with an upset stomach and a lesson we won’t forget.
It is so much easier said than done. Trust me girl, I know. I still struggle with this daily. But you have to remember, God is always there for you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says “ “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Don’t let yourself get a stomach ache. He’s got you, girl.
