Low Energy, High Faith

As you’re barely dragging yourself out of the door, hair not brushed and your make up half done, you realize that last night you put off getting gas until the next morning. You also realize you’re about 10 minutes late and haven’t consumed any caffeine.

As time slowly passes by throughout the day, it seems that your to-do list keeps piling up minute by minute, and your once endless yarn ball of patience has suddenly come to the end of its thread. And by the time you finally get home, the last thing you wanna do is pick up your bible.

I get it. After a long day, I just want to crawl in bed and dive into the dangerous world of social media. If I’m going to be transparent here, I sometimes put off going to God. Being even more transparent, I don’t want to go to Him at all sometimes. Prayer seems intimidating, and my bible seems like something I can’t even physically open, no matter how hard I try. I know, it sounds silly, but that’s the reality of it sometimes.

But here’s the thing- God wants to hear from you on your good days and bad. He wants to hear from you all the time. Psalm 46:1 says that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” God doesn’t wait until the storm blows over to step in, he wants to be with you in the storm. Even when the day feels heavy. Even when the emotions are loud. Go to Him. Pick up your bible. Say a prayer- even if it’s messy. He’s got you girl.
